4x4 setup!

what is the going rate for a setup; front diff, tranny/transfer, shifter, etc? looking to buy a parts truck that is 4x, if it's worth buying to resell all those components.

Going rates will be what they are going for on craigslist, local yards and ebay.

Not sure if this helps for your area, but around Kansas City, motor $500-750, trans and transfer case $600-900, front diff $600-800 and rear diff $900-1200.

All depending on mileage, gear ratio, locker or non. I just priced this stuff out for the same reason but missed buying the parts truck. Go to car-part.com and look this stuff up for your area it will give you both ends of the price range that way.

For what it's worth, I got a used open rear 4.10 3rd from Yota Yard in Denver last summer for around $350. You can get a rebuilt open front or rear for around $650 from ECGS. From my experience, selling bits individually will net you more than selling them together. That said, people in Denver seem lazy as I see very few used parts go through CL, but quite a few parts trucks. YMMV.

I'm gathering parts for a 4x4 swap as well. Paid 450 for a transmission, transfer case, both drive shafts, shifters and torque converter. Paid 200 for a complete front diff (ebay) and paid 400 for a elocker rear (in need of axle seals and bearings).

Too many variables to even list.

If I were looking, I would pay 200$ for a W59 trans with Tcase and shifters, 100$ for a bare front diff, would not buy used axles alone, spindles 50$ a piece, throw in the CV's with them. Driveshafts for someone needing them for the conversion I could see 100$ for the pair being fair.

As with anything old and used, it's only worth what someone will pay for it.
