I recently bought a '97 SR5. When winter hit and I started trying to use 4H, the light on the dash wouldn't turn on and 4x4 seemingly wouldn't fully engage. Then it was working fine for a week, and now all of a sudden it's not working again. There were no strange noises when it stopped working or anything, so I'm not sure quite what's wrong. Another post mentions the 4wd shift selector sensor. Could that be it? Maybe the transfer case fluid is low?
I've checked quite a few threads on this board, but nothing seems to answer this specific problem.
