Hey guys i just put 861 coils in the rear of my 4runner and am a little concerened with the lower mount. the end of the spring doesnt tuck into the stop like the 891s. have either of you had any problems with this. Also did you take the internal bump stop out from the coil?

That's just how mine looked. Never had an issue with it. With longer shocks, if you flex too much the springs can fall out. Either larger bump stops or a limiting strap would be a good idea

my current shocks wont let the springs fall out. i may ned longer ones now and i have bilstein air bumps so im good there.

i was just concerned about that lower mount. thanks for the info

Mine springs look pretty much the same.
I cut a couple donuts off each cone bumper. These are for overloads with the stock springs. I like the rubber for the top mount.

The reason for cutting off some donuts if because under full flex, they will come in contact and limit compression.

thanks for chiming in on the lower spring mount i appreciate it.

i was thinking about doing the same at the top to keep the metal on metal contact from happening.

Well today I put the rear built third in. 4.88s and arb air locker. Ill install the compressor and wire up the switches tomorrow and save the front diff for another day.

Got the compressor mounted and ran the air line and electrical.
I now have a locking rear diff.
Leak tested and found 1 leak fixed it and the compressor didn't come on for 30 min with the diff engaged so I figured that was good. The book said wait fifteen. Can't wait to get the front in now.

Couple updates. In the middle of installing the front diff. I stripped a bolt and there was a bad seal in the hub so I'm waiting on parts.
In the down time I got my new head unit installed with new component speakers and rear speakers with adapters to run 5 1/4 inch speakers.
