4x4runner2002 build

I used some grease and a ball joint press I loaned from auto zone and they went right in. Spindle still attached to the car. With the press they slide right in but it has to be lined up straight.

Don’t try to use the bolt and washer to pull it through because I have a nice trophy from doing that and had to to order a new slug adapter

Heh. At least that's now documented.

I tried doing that first but then realized I was using way too much force. I'm going to freeze them and use the c-clamp style ball joint press i got yesterday. I really wish the threads were like 3" shorter so it'd be easier to get under that damn wheel well. I feel like these tools are made for trucks with 3" body lifts.

100% easier. I had one before I got the 4runner. I had to think hard if I wanted to pull my motor and fix it or part out and go back to a taco.
This ones built so imma fix and beat up some more. It works too good.

Welp, ended up not working. i grabbed some 180 grit and ground down the taper edges instead. i probably took off about 1/25,000th and it fit a lot better after freezing them to -5 F and torching the spindles to 450 F

I think their tooling is a bit off for these things.

well thats a bummer that you had to do all that. at least its done and over now.
they arent my favortie company but the uca design is nice because my buddies with the other design end up getting that top bolt through the fender where theirs sits flush.
