4xInnovations front bumper - 3rd gen 4Runner with frame end cap mod?

I'm kicking around the idea of ditching my current front bumper and going with something else. I was looking at 4xI since I also need a rear bumper and it looks like the 4xI front bumper for the 3rd gen 4Runner mounts to the factory end plates .....buuut I've already hacked mine off.

Will the 1st gen Tacoma bumper fit? Do I need/can I use Tacoma skid plates?

A Tacoma bumper will not fit the 4Runner. The mounting system, grill and fender area is a different shape and size. We do have replacement frame caps that are the 3 bolt hole pattern (per end cap) found on the 00-02 frame. They are intended for either reinforcing the older frames or replacing the end plate on the newer frames, so that would be a perfect fit for you.

Our skid plates are the same between the two trucks.

99+ on the 3 bolt end caps? All of them with the fat-lip bumpers have the replaceable crash beam underneath that uses the 3 bolt plates. The 96-98 trucks just have the little crash caps bolted to the end of the frame rail.

We got two bumpers for my wife's 96 and my 99. I cut the plates off my removed crash beam and welded them to her frame ends after cutting of the early ends, so her bumper could bolt on as securely as possible.

Saw that you have the coastal offroad front bumper. What's the reason for the change?

Thanks for the info. I don't see those frame plates listed on your website, do they have any way to correctly locate them on the frame ends? I am an idiot with a MIG welder, not a fabricator.
