Anyone know if it is possible to do a 5.7 tundra swap in a 4runner?
5.7 in a 3rd gen?

I thought about that too. I wanna say the 5.7 is like 100 more horse. Ive thought about both of them. Theres a 4.7 on my local craigslist if only i had the money and new it was good.

Motor/trans mounts, exhaust, driveshafts, and wiring. Same as any motor swap.

I am doing the 4.7 2UZ-FE swap.
I had a temporary set back though. I had to steal a bunch of parts off it to get the other Sequoia to pass inspection. I had to take two coil packs, one a/f sensor, one H2O sensor and a drivers side catalytic converter. Fixed all the woes with my pops truck and now I need to get these parts for my swap.
For those that care, I will start the swap this week. Lots of pictures and documentation to follow.
As for the 5.7, anything is possible but the 4.7 is all ready pushing the limits on a 3rd gen engine compartment.
The 5.7 will be longer, wider and taller. Might have to move the radiator forward (past the front apron) to clear everything.
Everything else is cake.
The other issue is that a 3UR-FE engine swap would probably cost $4k to $5K as the engine has only been available for the past 4 years.

That sounds awesome ill stay tuned haha and yea that what the question was really if itd fit. I was thinking about doing a 4.7 or a trd super charger in the far future haha

man, the 5.7 with a blower would be the ultimate. it really puts the 4.7 to shame number wise, more than 200hp and 200tq more than a charged 4.7. almost double the hp from that extra .12 per cylinder, pretty impressive.
that said, i think the 4.7 is a much easier swap unless you wanna spend like $15-20k.
i thruck i almost bought before this was a charged 4.7 stepside trundra. i still want one, one day! :girl:

Yea it would be. Hopefully i run into alot of money soon then youll see that 5.7 in my runner haha

I might be the minority, but I kinda think that would be overkill.
oh yeah, i mean its overkill even in the new big body trundra really, just youtube and see what size tires people are lighting up with those, its insane. if someone really was gonna spend that money on it would likely end up being a drag vehicle as opposed to a crawler.

I've stated it before - I think it's pretty nuts to put a 5.7l into a 3rd Gen.

No one has the supercharger in their 5.7? A former neighbor had one in his 08; I think a filling of mine is still somewhere on US 17 after a ride with him.
