5 Star rims? Good pricing?

I have a guy on craigslist who wants $300 for a set of 4, five Star Rims off a 2000 limited. Please respond sooner than later.

I spent a lot of time wheel shopping last month and $300 seems about $50-$100 too much to me, unless they come with tires that still have some tread left. Do they come complete with all the lug nuts?

When I was doing my search, I went to check out a set of 5 star wheels/tires. The seller said in his ad "tons of life left in the tires" or something along those lines. He was asking $550. I went with $400 cash prepared to pay that if the tires were decent and would last a couple more years, but of course, while they did have some usable tread left, they were the ORIGINAL tires from a 2000 Ltd, so were 10 years old. I offered him $250 after telling him his tires were unsafe and he said no thanks. FWTW.

Well, it's not completely out of line, but it isn't a good enough deal that I, personally, would jump on. Depends though on what your timeframe is, how long you've been looking, and are you just set on that rim style or are you open to others?

Me, after looking at several different sets, some with tires and some without, I got tired of looking and bought a set of the 3 split spoke rims (which are my personal favorite on the 3rd Gen) in good shape, with a spare (I was moving up from 15" to 16" so couldn't use my existing spare), for $200. Perhaps I paid a little too much for such a common rim, but the pickup was very convenient, and I sold my set of 15" for $150 with dead tires within hours of listing them on CL, so basically came out flat.

Of course, THE DAY I got tires mounted on them, I found a set of 04 Sport 17" rims with nearly new B'stone Duellers for $600. Those I would have jumped on in a second.

i paid 125 dollars for mine they weren't perfect had some small chips tires where sorta usable but most people rather sell them cheap than have them take up room in the garage

Id pay 300. I really like these rims. Imho these are the best rims for the 3rd gen.

I paid $200 for the 17" Sequoia ones, which in my opinion look better. If you really want them though might as well buy them.

seems like a fair price. if they are in good shape get them. they are a sought after rim in the Toyota community.

well i was looking to even the cost by selling my stock 16" 3 spoke rims

Scratch this, my dad got me a set through a friend.

If they are in very good shape then the price is fair and they are a desired wheel say compared to the 3 spoke version which command easily $100 less and could even be in better shape. Mine have a few scuffs on the edges and I was offered $250 plus a set of the 3 spokes to replace them and I said no way;I really like the 5 spoke wheel and are one of the best stock wheels Toyota has made. Sequoia wheels are nice but since I off road a bit going up to a 17" wheel didn't make sense.
If I went with 17"s it would be with the 4th gen's sport wheels which are very sharp.
