Even on the back windows? What does that meter out to? Less than 1%? That must be like having a trash bag over your windows at night! :becky: The fronts look great. Mine is thundercloud color and I already have 20% over the backs and it looks great, not hard to see out of at night at all, keeps my belongings hidden. Cheers!

How do you guys like visibility at night? specifically backing up, anything darker than 35 or 50 annoying to drive at night with.

The only thing that sucks is backing up. Otherwise, everything else is fine. I hate not having tinted windows, I feel like I'm driving around in a fish bowl.

That looks great, has it peeled any yet? I hear that double layers tend to peel within a few months?

Really? I've never heard that. I even asked the guy if there was any draw backs to tinting double layers, he said none besides that itll be dark as shit. Haha but nope, no peeling and I got it put on in May!

We do have a back window that rolls down :wink2:

I was always taught to drive as if the rear view mirror and back window do not exist, as one day i will be in a situation where i cannot use them or don't have them, it was some of the best advice i have been told in regards to driving. Whenever i am in phoenix and drive the tinted cars there i always hate driving at night due to constantly rolling the windows up and down.

Oh cool, good to know. I guess if it's done right, then it won't peel lol. I don't have enough money to get double layers of anything right now so I'm just going straight 5 on the fronts but I am a little worried because my parents aren't too keen on the idea of nearly blacked out windows (I'm 18 but they still support me because I'm still in high school so I guess it's their rules for now...) And even though the cops didn't mess with me at all when I had my 20, that because they can't see in at all, they might use that as an excuse to pull me over. I hope not. Good thing window tint is a secondary offense in Lousiana. IMO, NOLA cops have better things to do than pull over a teenager who hasn't even gotten a parking ticket for illegal window tint. My friend/neighbor just got 4% (that's right 4%, not 5%) on every window (but windshield) and it looks great!

I had to convince mine as well! It was my money and I told them if I couldn't see that I could just roll down the back window! (I'm 17) I didn't really ask for double layers it was just that I had previously had the fronts matched and I just out 5% over that. I imagine it's somewhere around 1% just a guess though lol. You'll love it. It's really one of my favorite things I've done so far because it's used every day. Here it's just a fix it ticket! Lol

Lol! Do you get it redone every time you get a ticket for it? Do you have yearly state inspections? It pissed me off a lot because now in the parish (county) right next to the parish that truck is registered in, they give out 2 year inspection stickers instead of yearly ones. And what's even worse is that I can't go get a new inspection in the other parish. Stupid Orleans Parish.

you cannot back up or make a U-turn in the night with a 5% tint. What's that parish that gives 2 year inspection stickers?

If you have 5% and with a valid inspection sticker, cops can still pull you over.

Laws are made to protect us.

nobody is arguing the legality of it, he just asked for pictures. I tint the windows of all my cars, and never get hassled. I'm a Marine Corps veteran and have veteran license plates, which might have something to do with it.

I think it's Jefferson but don't quote me on that no pun intended. I know numerous people who live in Jefferson parish that have 2 year brake tags. My friend's brake tag came up in November and I looked at the new sticker and asked him why it said 11/2014 on it. I looked around for more cars like that and they're all over the place. The year sticker on the tag is teal colored if you happen to see one.

lucky you... He probably posted it to see how it looks before he do the tint. I just gave him a heads up...

I'll just assume you paid for the truck, registration, you own insurance, mods, and fuel by yourself.

Anyway very dark tints and a stuff like subs and loud exhaust (not saying you have that) just give cops another reason to pull you over, and I don't know about you but I don't like giving cops any other reason to pull me over, because I know some people that got pulled over for tint but ticketed/arrested for other stuff that would have never been known otherwise.

Exactly. I already know its illegal (but so was my 20%) but judging by how many cars have it, (I saw at least 6 or 7 today and that was just on the way to school on one street) my guess is that busting people for illegal tint is not a cop's top priority.

I have 5% over 5% on the front which reads at 0% when I got pulled as I just found out the other night, 5% the rest of the way around, and 35% on the front windshield with a, yep, you guessed it, 5% banner.
