5% tint pictures!

I have 5% over 5% on the front which reads at 0% when I got pulled as I just found out the other night, 5% the rest of the way around, and 35% on the front windshield with a, yep, you guessed it, 5% banner.

Oh well dude, that's blatantly obvious that you have tint. If the cop can't see you AT ALL then he's GOING to pull you over. How much was the ticket/do you have to get it taken off? Do you get pulled over a lot and cited for tint and if you do and have to remove it, do you just get it redone?

I've gotten pulled twice since having it like that for over 5 years. The two times, the LEO immediately saw that I was a nice, cooperating citizen with illegal tint. They typically ask why I have it so dark. They find out I'm not doing anything else illegal and send me on my way with a warning. I don't speed, drive drunk, drive high, drive with anything illegal in the car, blast my music, drive like a maniac(the tint makes me drive safer), so there really is no reason for the LEO to be rude and they never have been. Even get compliments from some that just don't care.

Well, New Orleans cops suck in general but I don't drive drunk, high, run lights, stop signs, etc., I've never had a ticket, been an accident, whatever. I'm hoping THAT will be enough to get my off with a warning from the cop. We'll see though. If I get a fix it ticket, I just won't get it retinted, simple.

I'm not telling you to try and trick the courts but if you do get a ticket, like you said, it will be a "fix it" ticket. You can go into court, act dumb and just tell the DA you had it removed like the officer told you to and didn't know you were supposed to bring proof. Another thing, bring in an old picture of your 4Runner without the tint on it as your proof. I have heard horror stories of LEO's taking tint off on the spot with a razor blade. This is just bad luck.

Yeah my friend got pulled over last year and the LEO took out a knife and made a big X on his tint just to be a jerk and gave him a ticket for the tint, but my friend also turned onto a one way street when a cop was a block away. lol But still, so many people have illegal tint in the first place, it's not even funny. I saw 6 or 7 today in a half hour while I was driving to school that had obviously illegal tint. I hardly ever see tinted windshields though, go figure.

You would have probably been pulled over more times but couldn't see them.
