53K on my 2007, should I add Slick50???

I just happened to see Slick 50 at the auto parts store last night. I remember putting a quart in my Jeep Wrangler at 20K, 50K and 100K. It certainly didn't hurt.

Any thoughts? Has anyone here used this in their 4Runner??

it's an oil additive. You substitute it for one quart of oil when you change the oil approx. every 50K miles. It has teflon in it, and I remember when I used it in my Jeep, reading a warning not to use it in a brand new engine, but wait until you had 10K miles or so on it b/c it could interfere with the seating of the piston rings and the valves.

I thought they had 2 kinds (newer engine and high mileage) of oil additives.

I find no purpose in oil additives, as long as you change your oil routine oil changes your just wasting money (my 2 cents)

That stuff is still around? Personally, I wouldn't go near it.

You should NEVER use additives in any engine. It is not needed at all. If you want better performance from your oil, use synthetic oil
