5k Mile service

Probably going to be heckeled for this, but I don't have the time to research the pages. I go tomorrow for the 5K mile complimentary service. What all does this service entail. I know some people on here talked like they don't change the oil, but I've also been told that they do. Any info would be great

4cyl 4runners with the 2tr-fe motor do get a 5k oil change even though it has 0w-20 oil. the 1gr-fe 6 banger has 0w-20 but only every 10k services. im reading this right out of my Toyota Care quick reference guide at my desk at work...i know....surfin the web while at work...its been a slow day. your 5k will and or should consist of rotate, reset maint light, tire pressure light new service sticker and a complimentary car wash.

I think the manual says something about whether or not you're being hard on the Mighty 4Rrunner. If so, change the oil. If not, don't. Myself, I don't think you can go wrong by changing oil. Especially for the first 5K, I'd change it regardless.

my 4runner is almost 7 months old and they keep hassling me to come in and get my 5k check up. I've only got 4000 miles on mine, so i am going to wait a few more weeks or another month or so before i take it in. Is that bad?

Mine is 4K miles @ 5 month. Aren't we supposed to have a service check @ 6 month regardless of mileage as it's written in a service booklet?

As spelled out in the WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE GUIDE it's "5,000 miles or 6 months".

So i just got back from the service and that was nothing that special. They checked the fluids and floor mats (which i am more then capable of doing myself). They also rotated and balanced the tires which I'm not so sure they did correctly. I'm no expert but it wasn't pulling to the left before I took it in. Also. I was sitting at 5500 miles before 3 months. And good thing they can't measure how hard I've been driving it. They would have said that she's been driven like a bat out of hell to everywhere damn this right foot.
