I have a stoopid newbie question. I have been looking all over the site and just seemed to have missed the thread (if it's here, it's got to be!)
I have had my 91 4runner just over three weeks, I have changed all the fluids, and am to the the tranny. I have a G58 5 speed and need to know "Do I change the oil in it?" "What's in it?" and... "Anybody got picutres of this?"

Any help would be great. I have been downloading manuals offline and have yet to come across this procedure. I got oil changing down, but when it comes to doing this, I am a bean-head.

The top three threads in the "Classic Section" are "Stickys". One reads "1st & 2nd gen 4-runner tech (factory service manual and common fixes)" In that thread look at the first link and it will take you to here Toyota Tacoma/ 4Runner/ Tundra/ FJ Cruiser Factory Service Manual Page

About a quarter of the way down will be the 90-95 4Runner FSM. Take a look at the online version, it is broken down by sections so you can download that area. There is a "Maintenance Operations" and a "G58 Description" page that has your oil info and the steps for checking/filing.

Its a second gen. According to the Toyota manual, It's a G58. But the manual doesn't say anything about changing the fluid in it

G58 came behind 89-95 22RE with ADD system.

To know for sure, the trans and axle code are printed at the bottom of the VIN plate.
