Just an FYI about posting material on Instagram, despite you owning the copyright to your own images (does not apply if you're reposting someone else's images) is that it has been confirmed companies are using these for marketing without permission.

I'm currently locked in a bit of a bruhaha with Toyota, as they used an image of mine without permission for their Chicago Auto Show keynote. I just warn people to be careful about what they put up and how they manage where the content is used.

I don't have a good answer, either it has to be obnoxious, or it can be easily cropped out. Or you just let people steal your stuff. But companies are getting more brazen about taking images.

I have ZERO issue with companies like CBI, IVD, Pelfrey, etc using images. In those situations they've always reached out and asked. My truck isn't sponsored, but I do have issue with a company like Toyota not ASKING to use my images.

All good points. The main problem is not being asked, like you said. Just make your photos all grainy and out of focus. No one will want to steal your images then :heh:
