Looking into a new headunit to get rid of the garbage Entune, but i'm worried that it will look way too out of place being that the radio on the 5th gens is designed to kinda flow with the look of the dash. Anyone have pictures?

I haven't seen a dash kit yet that looks good, they all look like shit and look out of place. Why don't you like the stock stereo? Works great as far as i'm concerned. What is it that you're looking for that the stock stereo doesn't have?

To me the OEM looks dated, eTune sucks and all the knobs and buttons look right out of The Jetsons. A fellow posted a photo of his Pioneer AVX 1300 on one of the T4R forums on FB and it looks factory. No knobs,no buttons. Very clean and retained all of the functionality of the OEM.

Even steering wheel controls? Normally those are PIA to program and most DYI'rs leave them out.

I know my limits so I’ll pay the dealer to do the install, but yes even the controls in the steering wheel function properly.

This is the face he used. I have my dealer checking to see if it can be painted to match the current faceplate.

Entune is garbage. Hardly ever works for me. And the factory system sounds like crap. Im also not usually one to blast music everytime I get in, but it seems like when you get it loud enough to get a good :guitar3::drum::rockon: going on, its just plain awful.

That's why I replaced all speakers, threw in a DSP and a high end amp. Sounds awesome, NAV works great, I personally have zero issues with the stock head unit. Stock speakers are junk, I agree 100% there. Another option is simply replacing all the stock speakers. Just that makes a HUGE difference in sound.

I would replace all the speakers. That's what I did. I didnt like how the aftermarket trim piece look out of place. Just get an good amp, an DSP, and a good set of speakers. I barely use any function on the entune so it's pointless for me to get an aftermarket. I use my phone mostly for navigation anyways.

Headunit

I totally agree, entune is a horrible system. More than anything I want to have carplay through Apple so I can actually use the navigation system to you know, navigate... Also having the entune voice system is horrible compared to Apple. Probably the reason toyota is finally start integrating apple car play in 2018. I agree the other faces are less than appealing but for functionality I'd sacrifice a little cosmetics.
