Heated Steering Wheel Upgrade

It sounds like the heated steering wheel was non-existent on 5th gens until it became available on some 2023 and 2024 models, despite there being a blank cover plate where the factory switch goes. Has anyone swapped in a factory heated steering wheel system from a '23-24 into their earlier 5th gen?

It seems like there might be aftermarket options but it would require a new, aftermarket steering wheel? I'm not a huge fan of using aftermarket parts if factory parts could be compiled for the conversion. Please advise if you have went this route and how you like it.

CarTrimHome sells a heated steering wheel kit, have seen a few people on here install it. There was also someone who did a retrofit. Haven't seen the OEM swap get done yet but I'm sure it's possible.

I have the CarTrimHome heated steering wheel, and it's been really nice for the past 1+ year.
xcmtb83 you are right - the CarTrimHome solution requires "aftermarket" parts, but to my eye many appear to be a judicious selection of Toyota parts intended for other applications.

I wish you well in your quest for heated-steering-wheel. I remain thrilled with having it :-)
