5th gen driveline clunk?

Hey, do any of you guys know if this problem exists on all 5th gens? I have a 2016 Trail and I have been noticing that when it's cold out (like sub 30F) in the morning, I get a nasty clunk when accelerating and decelerating, but it goes away once the vehicle has warmed up. My first thought when I heard/felt it was driveshaft U joint clunk and then I found this thread...
So based on what I read here I am thinking my 2016 has this issue, but most of you guys are talking about older model 5th gens...

I have a 16 and this started the other day, The 1st time it happened i thought the car behind me tapped my rear bumper. Is there a TSB for trucks newer the 2012?
Also, noticed a noise that sounds like the bearings are going.

Yeah, I have 30,000 miles on my 16 now, I have noticed this before but it was really loud this morning, it's gotta be the drive shaft...I will call the dealer.

So... how many of you with the issue grease your drivetrain at the interval specified by the user's manual?

That's a tricky one. I had the driveline clunk issue on my 2004 4Runner and greasing it solved the problem. I did not have it on the 2015 but thought I would follow the manual and grease it.
Before going on the last couple of off-road trips I have gotten underneath and greased all of the zerks for each end of the rear drive shaft and the forward drive shaft.
I think all that it has accomplished was to spray the excess grease seeping out of the joints all over as the driveshaft spins. I don't pump much more than 2 or 3 pumps with a small grease gun.
My thoughts on doing this is that as long as there is grease coming out then there isn't room for mud and water to come in...:redface:
