5th gen Limited wheels on 3rd gen?

Has anyone put the 20" wheels from the 5th gen Limited on their 3rd gen? They're 20x7 with 15mm (~4.6 backspacing) so they should fit.

IMHO, those are the ugliest wheels TOYOTA has ever come up with. Please, dont insult your 3rd gen by putting those on. Just an opinion.
 
It sounds like they should fit but if you wheel think about this...

If you wheel then the smaller wheel will give you a taller sidewall. The taller the sidewall, the lower air pressure you can go with less chance of popping a bead. the lower the pressure the better the ride and the better traction. Even if you don't air down much the taller sidewall will absorb more.

If you are going for a street wheel then give them a try if you want. Be fore warned, The short side wall will still give a more harsh ride even on the street.

I think they are amazing looking wheels. If I wanted a street truck, 2wd or something with those it would look awesome.
 
I'm interested in seeing how they would look. I like them, a nice black powder coat would make them look real mean.
 
if they made them in 16'' it would be nice..maybe...but is it just me..or do some of the limited look hideous? i like the TE..but the limiteds look like a box, with sideskirts or a body kit and those 18-20'' rims dont make it look any better. the TE is alright looking though..just those limiteds...

x2 on the 5th gen limited speak...

I think these wheels would be cool too, but only in a 16-17" size... 20"s are for the people who think they're :flamethrwoer2: "ballers"

No offense to DesertDune, though.
 
I would without a doubt rock those 20's on a set of 35" all-terrains for mall crawling/daily driving

post pics if/when you get 'em!
 
There is a guy here in Charleston SC that has a white 3rd Gen with 2010 SR5 rims, and BFG 265/70/17s. Looks AWESOME. I love those 3rd gens! That body style is what made me fall in love with 4runners. I have yet to see anybody with the LTD wheels on anything else. By the way, I am getting ready to sell 2010 LTD rims. Keep your eyes peeled!

Thanks for all the replies guys. No offense taken ChildrenOfBodom. I'll admit it, I'm a mallcrawler. About the only offroading I do in my stock 98 Limited is a dirt parking lot at Sugarbush. You guys probably think less of me now...

Anyway, I like the way the 20s look on the 5th gens and was just wondering what they would look like on a 3rd gen before I drop some serious coin on them (even used). I've search all over the forums and google and could not find a single pic of this wheel on a 3rd gen. Even a photoshop job would be nice...

BTW, I've seen many pics of aftermarket 22s on the 3rd gen and do not like them at all.

And to the haters, these are good looking rims, the size is what kills them/
 
I know they will fit - I just want to see a picture of them on a 3rd gen.

Wheel specs:
- 3rd gen ltd: 16x7, 15mm offset, 6x5.5, 106mm bore
- 5th gen ltd: 20x7, 15mm offset, 6x5.5, 106mm bore

Don't have pic, but he is a guy I met through an ad on craigslist for t4r wheels when I was looking for SR5 rims. He had put them onto his white 3rd gen. I emailed and asked him to put up a pic or send me one...maybe he will...who knows!
