I traded my 4th gen V8 sport 4x4 06 for a 2011 Magnetic gray TE with KDDS.

1st on my list is tires ---- not sure if I want P rated or LT rated . Looking for an all terrain. I'm going to stay with stock size 265/70/17's. I don't want to go heavier than a C rated tire since I do alot of road trips too and its my daily driver . I do deal with severe snow , ice , mud getting back into the woods ( fire lanes mostly ) not to mention out snow storms here .

2nd is different springs since the factory one have so much nose dive and body roll.

I'm sure more stuff to ad in the NEAR future . Weathertech floor liners , window tint , off road lights , ect.....

I am getting the SR5 wheels for my Limited next week and I am still deciding on the tires (P or LT). I am looking at Revo 2's and it's either E in the LT or P and every shop I have talked to recommended the P's.

I am just down the road from you - so I am looking for the best combination winter(snow and ice)/off-road/street, too.

Also, where do you go off-roading in Wisconsin?

Also - congrats on the new ride - don't forget the pics!

Welcome and good choice! I have the exact same configuration :-) Love it so far.

Yes where do you go offroad in WI?

As far as tires i swapped mine out in the first week with REVO 2's. They have been wonderful and feel much better then stock.

How is the power/engine smoothness compared to your old V8?

I have private land spots here and I also head a little bit north of where I am and then the forest lane trails are endless .

Thanks! We are up in the Eagle River area several times a year. I will have to go exploring! Lots of logging roads and stuff to check out.

TIRES >>>> some of you posted about them for me .

ALL the tire shops close to me , even a big one privately owned by my friend have recommended a P rated tire . The only one they recommended was the BFG AT/KO in a C rating. I would like a P or LT/C rated tire.

On my last 4R I ran REVO's . I went through 2 sets of them because that was all the rave at the time I bought the 4R. They were excellent in rain , marginal in snow , but i do drive aggressive in snow (when the time is right) off road dry they did ok , off road muddy slick terrain I thought they were not good. I don't know how the Revo II's act if any different .

Others were recommended is GYSA P rated .
Michelin ltx AT2 P rated .

I also have run BFG AT's on about 15 prev trucks , they had great traction and loved them , very durable . BUT in winter road ruts or catching and edge on the road they steered me ...not good . The other thing was wet driving rain they did not feel very confident .

Your thoughts

I still like the tires I have on this rig (see the signature). They have served me well in all my uses, particularly snow.
