5th Gen overhead molle panel

There was a “what product do you wish someone made” thread a couple weeks ago and I suggested an extended overhead console thing. This is almost exactly what I had in mind! I even thought maybe this could be my way to make some cash haha! I didn’t think about extending it back to the dome light and using that to mount.

Rago fab makes some universal panels of various dimensions that you could probably use too. You would just have to use some kind of mount for the dome light.

This completely bolt in or do you have to drill holes and stuff to get it to fit? Kinda wishing I didn't go with a sunroof now cause I want this haha

Seems this would be a bother for a taller driver. I am only 6 ft. 2 in. , but I have to duck my head now to see under the roofline while driving. Looks good but I don't know what I would hang there that would be of any practical use and not block vision.

And, with those hard case speakers or other hard items attached, any driver better have on a helmet when driving a rough trail!

You do? Hell man, I’m 8” taller and this is the first vehicle I don’t fell like I have to duck to see out of every time I drive it. That’s why I went 4Runner over Tundra. It doesn’t look like it will be a huge issue because it’s going down the center of the truck.

Hmm. Well maybe it is just a habit I have from driving an 84 4Runner for 32 years! LOL!

Could be I can form a new driving habit after having this vehicle for a while!

Looks like a great place to put communications and navigation equipment without blocking the already limited windshield real estate or cutting into foot well space.

What's the point? Serious question. Why would someone want to install this? My 4runner came with overhead lights - and speakers already installed in various custom enclosures throughout the vehicle. Don't they all?

those are radio speakers, your 4runner did not come with any already installed

I want one for a place to put my trauma kit, garage door opener, radar detector, radio speaker and maybe some quick grab items that currently live in the center console. I'm interested but will check if it's a head banger when offroading and how much it obstructs the rear view mirror

I like it but I like my sunroof more. I can see this being good for the more hard core overland types that have lots of equipment and are trying to save space. I was hoping for one that went from the rear to maybe above the rear passenger cabin.
