Does anyone have experience/advice on taking all the silver trim off of an SR5 2010 4 runner and powder coating it black? (door handles, bumper trim, manufacturer utility rail(top luggage rack), grill and rear hatch trim and emblem...specifically how to remove without cracking/scratching body or parts, and what paint to use?

Also, wonder how difficult it is to have the head and tail lights shadowed like the trail model...are there inserts or do you have to go all new headlight?

Oh, one more question...can the scooped hood be swapped from the trail to the SR5? (granted someone actually wanted to swap or I could actually find a scoop to trade?)

Thank you~ Im highly considering the purchase of a new runner and want to do my homework before my dreams of customizing take a reality check that is dissappointing if these modifications are not plausible...

Welcome to T4R!

Go to the 5th Gen section and google search the above topics. ALL of them have been addressed a lot! You will be amazed at the info you can find out by looking at the build threads, and the mods in the sticky section at the top of the 5th Gen site.

Before I purchased mine I read 30-40 pages of posts and it really got me off to a good start.

Have fun!
