5th gen seats in 4th gen 4runner

Does anyone know if 5th generation 4runner seats will fit in a 4th generation 4runner?

There's only one way to find out.

For the fronts, you would probably just have to swap 4th gen tracks onto the 5th gen seat. It does seem that the 5th gen seat sits a little higher off the floor which may be an issue in the 4th gen. The rear may end up being a little more work if it would even physically fit. It may be too wide. If I have time, I'll measure both of mine.

I don't like the seats in my 4th Gen nearly as much as my 3rd Gen or 1st Gen for that matter either as they're wider.
No support at all. Little to no side bolsters.
I think this is just a function of people getting bigger thus the bigger the truck keeps getting which in turn means bigger seats. They feel more like a flat bench seat than the traditional bucket seat.

My driver seat is in need of doing this. Hope its possible and not much work, just drop in would be great.

Metaltech makes a seat kit for the FJ's. I'm thinking- why wouldn't it work for ours? Unlimited color options for no extra charge. Only $400 more than the cost of the high-end leather seat covers.

My sister-in-law owns a 5th Gen. I own a 4th Gen. If I was to take the seats out, get a good set of comparison measurements on the seats and on the mount side, should I reply to this thread or start a new one?

She should be coming out to visit sometime this year and it wouldn't be a ton of work to do.
