5th Gen Spotted Thread

Was uin AZ this weekend. Spotted a lifted silver SR5 in Fountain Hills yesterday, off Palisade Blvd. Nice rims, couldn't tell which ones (or snap a pic), as I was haulin it down the road so as not to be late to meet family.

I am in Fountain Hills pretty frequently as my parents live there and have a few properties but it wasn't me. I will be on the look out for a lifted silver one next time I am there though.

1. Last Thursday, I saw a white sr5 with TE (or maybe the FJ) rims parked on the street in Frisco across from the pet store on Main Street.

2. Then, on Friday, driving West on I-70 from Vail to Glenwood Springs, a lifted Mag Grey TE with black aftermarket rims and skis on top passed me. It was speeding and I couldn't keep up. I thought it might be Jeremy556 from Edwards, but not sure...

Tons of 5th gens out here.

It must be someone really into offroading, because when I drove back by there I saw an old lifted Cherokee, and a seriously modded Wrangler in the driveway.

No skis, but hi lift mounted on top of the roof rack on the passenger side.

Might have been me, but I never go faster than the speed limit on I70. I used to speed a lot back east, but the speed limits around here are about as fast as I care to go.

Don't forget about us down here in Tucson, I am always down to explore. I'm always looking at the southwest section here but it's not used very much.

Oh to keep on topic, drove to PHX this weekend and saw a Salsa Red TE

Sorry for the color confusion. I only had the 8 color crayon pack :)

Nice to finally see a 5th gen from here as all I have been seeing are Scottsdale cougars driving bone stock limiteds near my work.

I think with limamike, you and Brock, if he wants to bring his Tundra out to play should plan a trail run. I'm sure there are other valley 4runners if we wanted to set up something before it gets to hot.

No worries on the color haha
Let me know, I'm always up for a off-road trip!

Hmmmm...maybe it was a hi lift and not skis...another thing I noticed was the frequent amount of times the driver was hitting the brakes. Driving somewhat frantically considering that the SL is 75mph on that stretch. Did you drive all of the way past Edwards driving west? I think I lost sight of the rig around Wolcott exit or so...it passed me while I was in the right lane near Avon. Then I followed it fairly closely until it went around a slower car that was holding things up.

Anyways, sweet rig. I should have snapped a pic, but there was traffic.

Definitely not me, it is incredibly rare for me to even use the brake on the highway. I leave decent stopping distances and downshift for grades.

I did have to slam on my brakes today in Glennwood Canyon - some asshat, I guess didn't realize that it was now 2 way traffic, came sailing up in the left (oncoming) lane at about 85mph (40mph work zone), and would have met a tractor trailer head on had I and the semi not locked up our brakes.

Let's set something up. I haven't done a ton of exploring down your way, but I would love to. Box Canyon up here is pretty good and has some really challenging sections.

Saw a silver TE with BFGs in Coppell today turning west onto sandy lake from Denton tap. It had a Baylor insignia on the back.
Thought I was the only TE in town.

Wait, I thought I was the only TE in town. I'm in Carrollton and get over toward Coppell often. I've only seen two TEs in Dallas in the past year, one that looked like yours (but obviously wasn't since I spoke to the driver at a stop light) and one with Florida plates and low hanging running boards, which looked ridiculous.

Spotted this 5th gen with a t4r sticker in the golf galaxy parking lot on broad street in Richmond VA. Anyone known who this is.

That is me! Thanks for the compliment - I was in Padow's grabbing some lunch. I took off the rack and light bar a few months ago. I like this look - makes it look old-schoolish.

Spotted a gray 5th Gen lifted with shrockworks front, GOBI rack and ladder black wheels...San Ramon just off Crow Canyon around 1:15. Who are you? Come wheel with us soon.

I was in my hot lava FR-S so you did not see me.
