Doing Sand Lake next weekend.

I was thinking of checking that place out... but how full of jamokes on quads and side by sides is it this time of year? I assume it looks like a scene out of Mad Max on a nice summer day.

If you park closer to the dunes by the water they tend not to be as much fury road.

I've never heard anyone else except a guy I used to work with use the word 'jamoke'. It's a ****ing great word!

Haha yep it's very underused. It might be an Army thing, that's where I first heard it. It's ranks up there with other mild insults like jagoff, dingus, and knucklehead.

You're right, I remember the first time I heard it from a drill sergeant. It's beautiful, poetic almost. Also love cheese$!@& and $&@#tard and F-ed up like a football bat. I could go on and on but we've already derailed this thread.

Interesting. I figured it was worth a Google and here is what I found:

"Etymology
Appearing at the end of the 19th century as a blend of java +‎ mocha, by the 1920s it became slang for someone who lacked mental abilities beyond that of a cup of coffee, probably influenced by moke. In the 1960s it also began to be used as slang for male genitalia.

This term may be the origin of cup of joe and joe; see those entries for more."

Now I'm wondering how the legendary Arby's Jamocha shake plays into this mystery. We may never know.
