Think I've seen this one before, just not with all of the recent additions.

It's a little over the top for me and my experiences. I know running boards were the FIRST thing that went bye bye....sorry, it screams poser.

Like what you want and those guys build their rigs considering a lot of factors and have done something quite amazing from there humble beginnings....pretty funny some of the comments you will hear on here but there is only one judge and jury

Looks like there are literally thousands of judges on here. That's basically what we do here, aside from learning from others, and getting an idea of what we like. I agree with a lot of the previous comments, they are over the top, in most ways, people flock to the dramatic. So if they don't tell you how incredibly hard what they are doing is, it becomes mundane. I will say, [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] has the best, and most functional rig I have seen on here. Even with his I don't understand the long travel, but I'd trade him any day of the week. Again though, that is the judgement, or opinion as I like to call it, that we are all allowed to pass. Just my .02.

Yeah basically, pretty rare to find true overland travel in the US unless you purposely just want to avoid paved roads.

Those running boards aren't any more functional than nerf bars. In fact you can see they're all bent up on some of their promo photos, showing how flimsy they are.

Look, I'm glad they found a way to turn their hobby into a job, we should all be so lucky. God bless them for having guys like Kurt as part of their trips, since he's been there and done that, and actually knows what he's talking about with rigs.

But man, we're allowed to raise criticisms and not be labeled as haters. I've poked around their Tacoma and 4Runner (the mag gray one, Rufio I think), and as I've said before there's WAAAAAY more work put into even the moderately upgraded builds here on the forums. Even basic armor, diff breathers, etc etc.

Everyone assumes sponsorship is awesome, and I'm looking at these builds as a result of what happens when you're restricted to just what your sponsors are willing to give you. There's a fairly business related reason why they don't have snorkels on their rigs.

But factory running boards? Okay, rock on with your bad self, XO. I mean it can't be any more useless than ALUMINUM rock sliders like on the Taco. Where I start to pucker is when people look at those builds and consider them to be THE benchmark, when anyone who's relied on their vehicles knows that aluminum has no place on rock sliders unless they're ungodly beefy. But people here look at a youtube episode and think "worked for them, it'll work for me." And the big difference is people here have to pay full price to potentially learn from that mistake.

I trust when guys like [MENTION=76550]cbielat[/MENTION] say "I use this, and here's why" and I see him smashing his long travel 4Runner into shit, because they're not being paid to say something.

I'll say this, I like that hood scoop wrap (minus leaving the scoop itself unwrapped) and I'm totally gonna gank that and do that on mine.

Thanks man. I mean, everyone is going to use their truck differently. I just put on what's best and what works for my needs. Trial and error. Been through many parts this way.

I had a 2013 FJTT in cement.

I thoroughly liked the color.
The cement color changed hue's in different light, which I thought looked good as well.
I know they are not for "everyone", but I think this color will sell!

I also saw that there. That cement color is legit, I might like it more than my mag gray. My buddy I was with didn't like it at all (but he's an Infinity guy so /shrug).

That XO rig looked decent enough although like [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] I was like WTF on the stock running boards.
