How come you can't make these plastic like the tacomas?

I bought the center console organizer for my t4r because I like the organizer in my tacoma. Was disappointed when I got them because they're just cut up plastics and they warp. Quality was pretty bad.

No complaints about the tacoma though

The Tacoma organizer has been around a while and is molded ABS plastic. The 4Runner organizer is newer and CNC cut from PE plastic sheet. Both quality plastics that lend themselves to different processes. The Tacoma started as cut PE and was later converted to molded ABS as demand increased.

The 4Runner plastic should be plenty rigid. It is installed using the vertical side ribs in the console to further stabilize the plastic dividers.

Most likely these will not be listed on Amazon.ca. It has not been a good experience with the other organizers. I am using EBAY and the international shipping option going forward. These will be available soon on EBAY.

Sorry to here they aren't selling on Amazon.ca. This post prompted me to place an order before they are gone.

I got mine the other day. I cut one of the supports so I could put my manuals on the bottom and it worked great. I actually have some empty space to fill now!!

Thanks for the heads up! Ebay's global shipping system can be expensive (high shipping costs with automatic import charges) so I'll wait until I visit the US next to pick this up.

Noticed the other day that after I removed two dividers to store manual, horizontal piece was bowing (not that this is a structural problem, but more my OCD). Decided to cut dividers for added support and regain lower compartments.

I noticed the bowing too in their product pictures on Amazon and that was the reason I did not buy it. Looks like you have found a good workaround as most of us need that large space for our manuals.

Nice customization! Not sure what you used to cut the plastic, but I recommend any power saw with a wood blade. Dremmels tend to melt more than they cut.

Getting product to Canada economically is a challenge. Freight and import is equally expensive to stock in Canada on Amazon. Always looking for a better way to get product up north.

I used a table saw for a nice clean cut, followed with a razor knife scrapping edges (not cutting) to clean off burs, then followed by a butane micro torch to slightly heat edges for that final smoothing touch. Lastly, once inserted and lined up, a dab of super glue on the top front thin piece of plastic so it won't move or break.

Although I tweaked original design ever so slightly (I have a problem leaving things alone :naughty, I'm very happy with the product and would recommend to anyone!

Did you remove the front factory divider? Removing that will let it contact the bottom of the console.
