IMO this is the best looking 5th Gen... I would trade my Shoreline Blue in a heartbeat for this config. Sweet/sick/etc...

YESSS! that thing truly looks gorgeous
This is my 2010 Magnetic Gray Metallic T4R Limited in “winter” shoes (Bridgestone Blizzak DM-V1 245/60R20 tires and Nascar Bristol 20” wheels). Also with BrightTrim 2” color matching body side moldings, SE Toyota running boards (shortened to accommodate front mud flaps), Husky custom molded mud flaps, Mangowalk 5” stubby antenna, AVS Bugflector II, and Colgan Custom carbon fiber bra (for use on trips/highway, only bottom section used due to AVS Bugflector). On the back hitch I have a Chrome Rhino receiver-hitch-mount tube step and under the hood Fiamm El Grande horns. Only off-road activity is going to and from fly fishing sites in Colorado! I think it rides as it should! Have owned for 15 months and not a single problem!!! Nothing!! Nada!! Take that Consumer Reports!!

What a difference some tires can do for a vehicle! Here are a couple shots after I installed my Duratracs (265/70/17). The shot with the CAT is at my parents acreage where they're building a new house.
To note, I did have to trim the fender liner to allow these tires to fit properly without rubbing. Nothing a little dremel action can't handle. Enjoy!

What a difference some tires can do for a vehicle! Here are a couple shots after I installed my Duratracs (265/70/17). The shot with the CAT is at my parents acreage where they're building a new house.
To note, I did have to trim the fender liner to allow these tires to fit properly without rubbing. Nothing a little dremel action can't handle. Enjoy!
slightly bummed that you had to trim the fender, cause i really like the stance and the way it looks. looking awesome man!

Why did you have to trim, that is the 'stock' tire size? 275's can be installed without trimming, from the general consensus, anything over requires it though.

Even though that is the 'stock' tire size doesn't mean its the same. A 285/70-17 may be slightly different from another manufacturer's 285/70-17. He also has aftermarket wheels where the backspace and offset may be different.
Trimming isn't a bad thing. I chopped and welded the cab mount on my 4Runner to fit my 285's.

Truck looks great! What have you done, lift/level, wheel spacers, etc? What are the dimensions of your wheels?

Although trimming isn't necessarily bad, I'm sure it could hurt resale value. I'd also rather not have to trim to fit a tire.
rroberto1- I'm liking what you've done. You should paint that SR5 emblem or take it off. Look into Plasti Dip.
I still don't understand why the 5th Gens have a manual fuel door.

Hey Gents,
Thanks for all your responses.
First off, I only experienced rubbing while reversing and turning. No rubbing that I noticed while turning while moving forward (this ofcourse would depend on any inclines/angles of where i'm driving). I only had to trim a bit off the lower, small portion of the mud flap which is its own separate piece which could be easily replaced with a new piece down the road. I did however have to trim the front piece of the liner (the area that has 2-3 ridges). I know what you're saying about future value (as I think its an eye sore if you actually see it) but the tires are worth it.
My rims are 17x9 with 0 offset I believe. That alone changes everything. The rims sit almost flush with the fender flares. Unlike the stock 17x7 which were much more inset. I think with these particular tires, rubbing will occur regardless. These tires are very very aggressive, especially on the sidewall. Very big lugs as well. So rubbing was not a big surprise to me even with staying with a 265. I can see how a Terra Grappler in a 265 wouldn't rub because its a much smoother tire compared to the Duratrac.
I don't have any kind of lift (though I think a leveling lift would solve the rubbing issue). No wheel spacers, just wide rim.
I hear you about the fuel door....to add to that list in my personal opinion:
- no projector headlights...its 2011, why? Previous Runners have projectors.
- 1980's radio antenna (already fixing this with stubby which is on its way)

Bought my wife the 2011 Limited couple of weeks ago. Loving it and can't wait to get it in the snow and off road. This is our first Toyota and likely the first of many to come. Being in So Cal, it was actually hard to find one in dealer stock that actually had 4wd and they all thought we were crazy for wanting it.
