I reset my MPG when I re-fuel to get an accurate account for that tank.

I use the eco when Im in town just to gauge how much gas Im actually giving and getting used to driving it after driving a honda accounrd for over a decade.

I just got mine a few days ago, but I've been using it constantly and not driving agressively! But for some reason, my MPG-o-meter started off at 0 when I first got the truck (which originally had 1 mile on it) and now at 100 miles later, it is reading 14.0 mpg and slowly increasing by 0.1 miles every half-mile. Anyone know why this is? Why am I not showing 18-19 mpg like most of you others are?

I am seeing the same thing and I have about 150 miles now. I am not sure maybe we need to hit reset or something.. haha:shrug:

give it some time guys. it averages the miles you've driven over the amount of gas consumed. you only have "150 miles" and "a few days" worth of miles driven so far. your average will increase with time

I am in Hawaii for now but I will be driving her across country in september. I can't wait. It should be a great drive. From San Diego to New Hampshire down to North Carolina.

Given the lack of Blue TEs on the mainland, Servco (the Hawaii distributor) must have had the entire allocation of Blue TE production sent to Hawaii. There are two Blue TEs at Big Island Toyota (from the other thread).

I know the color of that car, it was just like my 87 Supra. The new Shoreline blue is much darker, also at night it gets real dark. nice car BTW

A milestone in my family. The first Japanese vehicle in history. Ford let me down, Jeep let me down, and GM let me down. I put a boatload of miles on my SUV for work and now it's Toyota's turn to pass or fail the test. If it goes 120,000 miles without a u-joint, hub, shock, or computer malfunction it will prove to be better than the rest!

Traded my '07 Tahoe LTZ for the Limited. While it doesn't have every option the Tahoe had, it has about 99% of them and some that are better. I like the rear window up/down function. The only thing I miss is the liftgate push button. I keep reaching for it but it's not there. It's also comical to watch me reach for the gear shift lever on the steering wheel and get the key out of my pocket to put it in the ignition every time I want to start it. Having remote start installed this week and the dealer threw in floor mats.

My mom bought a Limited Rav4 today coming from a 2002 Explorer. Just like you, she kept hitting the windshield wipers when she is going for the non-existant column mounted shifter and she keeps trying to use the keyless ignition fob to start the car. Haha.

Well that makes me feel better. Thanks for comparing me to your MOM! I hope she's a NASA Physicist or something!!! Just kidding. It IS funny. Even I laugh at myself every time I do it. I wish the thing would let me lock the door with the engine running without beeping at me like I'm some kind of idiot for leaving it running. It's like it's saying, "hey idiot, are you TRYING to get your new car stolen???"

She is a nurse practitioner and a college professor at a nursing school... so she's pretty bright.

No worries, though. Every time I drive an automatic, I smash my foot into the floorpan trying to press in the clutch. After driving a right hand drive Nissan in Scotland for a week, I smashed my left hand into the door of my GTI reaching for the gear shifter. It happens. :lol:

I'm really a fan of the keyless ignition, though it does seem to beep at you quite a lot. (Accidentally pressing the lock button as you are trying to open the door, for example.) That and the all black interior are the two things I desperately want for my SR5.

One thing to watch out for with the keyless smart key is once you start the car ,you don't have the key fob near by to drive off!

Last Thursday I leave for work and forgot my phone so I turn around and go back.Left the truck running ,used garage door opener,go back in the house,phone rang,blah blah blah and I set my dang keys down on the coffee table! Symptom of sometimers disease I suspect!

I get to work and in the parking lot , it hit me!No keys or keyfob but I drove to work!If I shut it off ,I'm screwed! Doh! Back to the house,luckily, I only live 10 miles away and I can just make up my late time at work.

Other then that little lesson,I absolutely love the smart key!!

Hey Gary, that is funny about the key - all sorts of odd things possible to happen with this smartkey thing. I normally never lock my car and always leave the key in the ignition, but now it sits in the console. I worry about carrying the key with me while away from the car in the woods - concerned about losing it - so I have always wired a spare key under the car somewhere. Since you can't do that with the smartkey, I guess the only option is to use the tiny key that comes with the FOB? But you can't start the car with this thing, right? And can't hide the spare FOB inside either, unless you disconnect the battery until you needed it - I wonder if that is possible?

i'll change that when i've actually made some changes to the runner. i just threw on rims i had in my garage. it's still stock as far as i'm concerned.

I'm not sure about the toyota smart key but on my infiniti you can leave the fob in the car and take the key inside the fob out and lock the doors with the inside door lock button. The car knows if the fob is inside and it won't unlock from the outside by pressing the door unlock on the handle. You can then only unlock the car with the door keyhole or the other keyless fob....

Thanks Brad. I need to take the other FOB out to the car and see what the car thinks of it. It takes a little getting used to but I like it...
