Yeah, it would look great with black wheels, but I'd scratch the powder coat up the first time I went off road out here. There are rocks everywhere!!! Heck, I picked up two little rock scratches in a wheel just driving home last night-- and that was on a paved road! I guess that's why I'm not too worried about the thin mark the tire shop put on two of the wheels yesterday (I didn't check them till this morning). In addition, I'll have a cracked windshield within a month and the front end will look like it has been sandblasted within a year. Gotta love southern Arizona!

After more than a month of messing around, I finally took delivery of my new 2010 Salsa Red Trail Edition yesterday!

Very nice!! Question though, with the 11's out why would you want a 10'? To me it is all about resale value. I guess if you could use the 'it's already a model year past' to your neg. advantage than that might be a reason.

why does it matter... im sure he got money off for the 2010... my dad recently bought a 2010 silverado and got 5k off since the 2011's were out.

That is my point....it does not matter....IF he got a good amount off. If he did not get a dime off, now that would be a problem.

I tried going for a 2011, but they have no idea when a Salsa Red Trail with KDSS is going to get made and shipped to this region's port. It was probably going to take at least another month or two. The dealer was already giving me great trade values on both cars I traded in and this 2010 was sitting 150 miles away at a dealer in Phoenix. So, they did a dealer trade, gave me more money off, and had it trucked to the dealership. Plus, I got my vehicle way sooner than I would have otherwise (plus my trade values would have went down in the coming months). In addition, it already had the windows tinted.

Basically, in 10 or 12 years when I go to sell this vehicle or trade it in, one model year is not going to make a bit of difference. Now, if I were to trade it in after only 1 or 2 years, that's a different story all together.

After more than a month of messing around, I finally took delivery of my new 2010 Salsa Red Trail Edition yesterday! Of course, it went straight to the tire shop for new shoes. I'm already loving it and looking forward to some Arizona off-road adventures. I'll post off-road or scenic photos as I get the chance.

looks familiar... :)

That's a possibility. Maybe even a bug deflector?

Bug deflector is good but only protects the hood. Doing the clear bra will cover the bumper, grill and part of the fenders if you decide to spend the extra. You can even get the headlights too. It's a bit expensive but definitely worth it if you're living in the conditions you say you are.

What a Test Drive on My New 4Runner!

I just finished a 6,500 mile journey in my new 2010 4Runner SR5 ... it took 18 days and traversed 14 states. From Texas north to Wyoming and Montana, west over to Washington, down through Oregon and North California. Then back east over I-80 through Nevada and Utah, ending up in Estes Park for a couple nights.

The 4Runner performed flawlessly at 5mph on dirt, and at 75mph on Utah interstates, at 10' above sea level on the California coast, to 10,000' in Colorado. In sunshine, rain and fog. Nice!

I hated to leave my other vehicle in the garage at home: a 2003 4Runner. It only has 135,000 miles on it and remains in near perfect condition.

Love them Runners!

WAY cool pics...road trip vehicle for sure.

Just picked up a T4R last night, 2011 4Runner 4x4 SR5 Magnetic Gray. Got the bare minimum: Sunroof, Audio package, and Power Seats.

Swapped for BFG 275/70R17 AT KO this morning, added Yakima bars, pulled the SR5 emblems. Best truck Ive ever owned, hands down. Last 3 vehicles: 2010 Tundra Double Cab SR5, 2010 Subaru Outback 6MT, 2009 Tacoma TRD Sport.

ATRAC + Rear Locker = :thumb3:

My friend, with his jeep with both front and rear lockers engaged, struggled up one obstacle (not pictured) and had to hit it with some speed to get up it. I engaged ATRAC and locked the rear, and had no problems easing right up the part he struggled with. Jeeps still have us beat in approach and departure angles, but these 5th Gen 4R's can climb!
