So i've been curious since Ive got my TE what this thunk every once in awhile when I am braking. It's close to a stop and sometimes when i'm stopped it makes like a thunk/jerk movement. Is this common? It has been happening since I've had my TE last april.

Any other experiencing this?

Do a search for "yoke slap", should pull up a few threads.

"Clunk" Yoke Slap

Its fairly common. My last three GMC pickups all had it and bad. Its called spring wrap and as the driveline pressure drops at the stop light the spline shaft on the transmission and drive shaft release and it clunks. Eventually it will hammer out the rear ujoints. I was (just retired) a high mileage driver on my pickups (190,000 miles in 4 1/2 years) and it usually cost me a new drive shaft because eventually they bowed. The solution is to keep the driveline greased with a high "moly" content grease. At a minimum it should be greased at every oil change.

nothing pulled up for "yoke slap" Pretty odd that this is something that happened since I've had the car.

Basically I need to have it greased up at the dealer?
