Will the 5th gen (2010) TE roof rack directly fit on a 4th gen? Any help or input would be greatly appreciated. I have a 5th gen buddy that's about to roof rack delete and I'd like to take it off his hands if it will work.

I've never heard or seen of it happening, but in my opiniong the 5th gen rack looks to small to reach the 4th gen factory holes. But since your friend is getting rid of it it's not like you have to buy one across the country and have it shipped to you. Just take his and stick it next to yours and it should be pretty obvious

it's called a measuring tape... go to a toyota dealer and measure one or have your buddy measure his... I've never heard of this happening either.

No problem with curiousity! I find out about all of my stuff before I even have the money to think about ordering it but it just gives me something to do

Thanks bud! Very helpful. At least I know for sure. I was looking at a random 5th gen in my work parking lot but didn't have a tape on my truck. It looked a bit off but wow, 10" off is a lot. I guess I won't be doing that mod/upgrade. I think it would have looked pretty cool though.

Well, the good news is I had a Flowmaster cat-back exhaust installed today and it sounds freakin awesome! I was really concerned about the 70 series FM because I've never really heard one on the V6 in person. It sounds almost stock at idle but really has a nice refined deep throaty bellow in the lower RPMs during normal acceleration. Way better than the the FM 40 that I had on my 08 Taco. It had too much drone/ricey sound for my taste (no offense to any one). The 70 series FM is comparable to the Super 50 series SUV muffler.
If anyone's interested it's the Flowmaster 70 series big block with delta flow.

That was from the longest point to point on the end caps.
Interior width at the end caps is ~39.5" on the 5th and ~40.5" on the 4th.
Carfully measured so that I did not scratch my buddies new 5th with my tape measure.
