Finally - we get to see some real info about options!!

Interesting things:
- Moonroof is standard on Trail and Limited, optional on SR5
- Sliding rear cargo deck is standard on Trail and Limited, optional on SR5
- Rearview camera is standard on Trail and Limited, optional on SR5
- KDSS is only an option on Trail; X-REAS is standard on Limited
- Third-row seat is an option on SR5 and Limited
- Leather seats are standard on Limited and optional on SR5 (Trail has a special water-resistant fabric)
- There's now a wiper mist function standard on all levels
- Mudflaps are only standard on Trail
- Trailer hitch receiver is standard on all levels
- Spoiler is standard on all levels
- Climate control is "normal" (manual) on SR5 and Trail, and automatic on Limited
- Smart Key is only standard on Limited
- All power windows are now auto up/down
- Safety Connect (like OnStar) is standard on Limited
- DRL's are standard on all levels, but with an off mode (whatever that means)
- Fuel tank is 24 gallons
- They're not showing a 4-cylinder engine yet - just the V6
- Limited has "full-time" 4WD, SR5 and Trail have "part-time" 4WD

Exterior color choices seem very slim:
SR5: Magnetic Gray Metallic, Salsa Red Pearl, Black, Classic Silver Metallic, Blizzard Pearl (white)
Trail: Black, Classic Silver Metallic
Limited: Shoreline Blue Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Black, Classic Silver Metallic, Blizzard Pearl

Interiors are Graphite or Sand Beige fabric on SR5, Graphite on Trail, and Black or Sand Beige leather on Limited.

It's based on your zip code.

When I tried to build one here in San Diego it would not let me build a TE. I only had the SR5 and LTD choices.

When I entered a Colorado Zip (80021) it gave me the TE option.

I guess they're first going to areas where they think they will move.

Other things I noticed:

- Rear parking sensors are only on SR5 models without the backup camera. Models with the backup camera delete the reverse sensors. (I'd like to have both.)

- No running boards (standard or optional/accessory)?
 
Only two options for the TE model, KDSS and NAV. You would think KDSS would be standard on a Trail Edition.
 
Only two color options on the Trail? If that is true, it's beyond stupid.
 
So people will have to buy out of state to get what they want?

No Trail Grade in Sacramento or Truckee (96161), but it is listed in Reno, NV (89501). And the brochure I printed out for my zip code, did not include the Trail. curious.
I guess Sacramento is not close enough to the Rubicon Trail--where they tested the Trail edition. :shrug:

I want a Trail Edition color White!!!!... they most add more colors options for the TE...

It's amazing how many things they have cut out for 2010 inorder to save costs. What $40k vehicle doesnt have memory seats? In-glass antenna? LED's? No leather on the steering wheel of the Trail or SR5? On and on and on...

The truck just seems unpolished and thrown together. Another thing that bothers me is the two trianle up/down rubber buttons on the rear liftgate/license plate surround of the Limited. What an eye sore. They put it right in plain sight next to the "4Runner" logo. How tacky.

Another thing I noticed is that they dont show one picture of the rear end on their updated site. I guess Toyota US thinks it's the 4Runner's ugliest view too.

I am so disapointed in this truck. I have been waiting for this redesign for over a year now, but dont like what they have done. Toyota really let this one go. This has got to be one of the worst offerings I have seen yet. And thats saying alot considering all of their redesign vehicles in the last 5 years or so have been a let down for me. I dont know, maybe I am the only one who thinks this. There are way too many vehicles available new that I like everything about, I was just hoping tha the new 4Runner would one of them. I do like the Shoreline Blue color though. I dont think there will be one in my future. Ok, my rant is over.

I am pretty sure that the severe limitations on color and package combinations will ease up down the line, but limiting them now enables them them to get production running and get them out on the road.
Special order models and options slow production, sometimes resulting in that particular unit having to be removed from the line while a particular part is being sourced and fitted offline. Depending on stage of completion, it may never join the line again and does not necessarily receive the same final quality inspections.
This may be another reason they are doing this - Toyota has come under fire in the last few years on new models with quality issues (eg. Camry transmission), so perhaps this is a way to ensure good quality on a new mode;

I would be happy waiting for all this to be sorted out if this is the case.

Any Logisitics folks out there agree?
