I have seen the pics of the TE, and I really like what I see...the one question I have is what's up with the profile view? It seems like there is a lot of undercarriage showing. I really have no use for running boards, but it looks almost unfinished...look at this pic:

I noticed the same thing. I nice set of sliders or tubular side steps would cover that up...

Welcome to the world of 4runners...the underbody of 4runners have never been its strong point....

Pic looks tilted towards the passenger side..... exposing more of the undercarriage.

I know I've had three of them, but this seems excessive to the point where it looks like its missing something. Even this pic is not a a weird angle and it looks like its missing a body part:

Yeah, the photographer definitely captured a very low angle when taking that picture. It's almost like the camera was on the ground.

the options on the TE are awesome imo... i wish you could get the entire body color coded though. the different bumper valences for a better approach angle are a good idea but i'm not a huge fan of the looks.

True, but if you get it in black it's gonna look sick...maybe some black rims if you want it murdered. Can't wait to buy one!

True...I'll wait till I see it in person. Like another poster said, I could always add a tubular step. The options on the TE are just too good too pass on.

i see what you mean, but it's hard to tell because it also looks like that's where the flair would come down from the wheel well. looks like the bumper got scratched... even with the higher valence.

The undercarriage looks very unfinished and it was the first thing that caught my attention on the TE and SR5 models, but it is not so bad on the LE because of the side skirts. Perhaps some custom cover could finish it up, this is what I had to do on my 4R after removing the step tubes. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?t=49516

Those parts will come color matched from the factory in 6mo, just like when the 4th Gen came out.

Just like you'll hopefully see a V8 in 6-8mo when people gripe about the lack of a truck that can tow a decent amount of weight (5k lbs, come on... Don't the current V6 4th gens do 6k) and the lack of arse of the V6 (which Truck Trend/Motor Trend have already semi-complained about before the truck is even in the dealership).

I doubt it. Maybe an accessory. Those sliders look like the ones on the FJ. Toyota probably just threw on the FJ sliders for the pre-production run on the Rubicon. The sliders are a bit too short IMHO...and this is why i think that it was an afterthought rather than a specific slider for the 4runner. Ideally, you want the slider to be long enough to cover the whole rocker panel.

I don't like the look of other components hanging out and off the frame on trucks. Looks like someone wearing a skirt or shorts that are way too short. Like the Big Three's fullsize HD pickups, parking brake cables, wiring and brake lines are all visible under the cab on the frame rails--it looks terrible.
