5th Gen Wheels on a '06 Sport?

For quite some time I have been considering getting a second set of wheels for my '06 Sport for a dedicated set of winter tires. A set of take-offs from a new '11 are available locally that includes wheels and tires for $600. They are described as "6 on 5.5" in the ad.

Obviously, I have the 6 bolt, but I'm unaware of what the offset is on my wheels.

I would appreciate any feedback or recommendations.

The 4th Gens have a 6 on 5.5" Hub Centric pattern, so those should work.

He wants $600 for the wheels and a new (<100 miles) set of Dunlop GrandTrek that must be the factory standard and that are exactly the same size as my tires. I don't think I can go wrong. Thanks for the quick response.

If you're looking for a set of dedicated winter wheels/tires, I would go with something that has deeper tread depth than the stock Dunlops.

You'll be better off finding a set of wheels from any newer generation Toyota SUV/Truck (I believe all of the Sequoias, Tacos, 4Runners, and FJs have the 6 on 5.5" pattern) and buying some better/nicer tires to put on them. Just pick which tires suit your needs best, then find a set of wheels that will fit them. It shouldn't be a problem.

I also think you might be paying a premium for the 5th Gen 4Runner wheels. If you can find a set of wheels from an older year you will pay substantially less for them. I think the Sequoia wheels look really sweet on the 4th Gen 4Runners.

But, if you like the 5th Gen wheels, by all means get them!

I agree on your suggestion for better tires for the winter tires. I've got about 20K on my Dunlops now and really don't want another set. Big storm here today and I'm floating around all over the place.

I was thinking I would wear this set out and then replace it with the winters and then use the new set for the summer driving, so its not too urgent.
