5th Wheel From Toyota Parts

Hi:

I plan on doing a 5 wheel rotation and so will need a 5th wheel for my 2011 Trail. To order the part from the dealer costs a whopping $500 plus tax. I am going to wait a little to see if anyone is getting rid of their rims but usually they are sold in 4’s. Buying 4 might still be cheaper than 1 from the dealer. I have also been looking online to see if I could find a source that is more reasonable. I found one but was wondering if anyone knew of any others. This is what I found.

They didn’t have anything for 2011 4runners but I assume the 2010 wheel is exactly the same.

Before I order I want to confirm these are the correct parts I need. The center cap says it is for a 17 X 7 wheel but this is a 17 X 7.5 wheel. That doesn’t matter, does it?

I would just buy 4 from someone online here, then sell the other 3 for those that want them for spares too. Just remember the 5th wheel doesn't have a TPMS sensor and as far as I know the on board TPMS computer only accepts 4 inputs.

Oh and if your putting the spare in the stock location for storage, no need to buy an extra center cap or lug nuts. You would only want a center cap and lug nuts for the spare if you had it mounted onto a tire carrier which was seen by everyone.

Thanks very much Nathan. Yes I hope someone sells theirs before I have to do my 1st rotation. I have been looking here and on ebay. I think I would do what you suggest. A little more trouble but cheaper and also there are others who want just one wheel.

You are right. That saves me some money if I don't need the cap and lugs. I hope the rim doesn't get damaged underneath though with any offroading. Nothing I can really do about that unless I want to put it out back but I won't do that. Thanks again.
