60K Service on 2010 Ltd

I did a seach and just found old info and also assumed I'm the only moron with close to 60K on a 5th 4runner.

What's everyones thoughts on this? Is it worth it? I obviously drive a ton of highway miles and do some off road bird hunting but, nothing real extreme. I get the oil changed every 5k. Just wanted to get some thoughts.

I am just going to come out and say that your service appointment will be unremarkable if your vehicle has been competently maintained. Face it, 4Runners are probable some of the least exciting Toyotas in terms of maintenance, which is why some people take them out to try to break them.

I personally would not bother with 5k oil change intervals on the V6 unless you're towing stuff and used oil analysis showed you were having issues.

The only thing I'd start doing around that mileage is start shopping for new tires if those are still original.

Good to hear this as I drive a ton of miles as well. I've had mine for a year and have 45k on it. I got a flyer about the 45k maintenance from the dealership and called them so see what it includes. Way to expensive. I've maintained my well, always getting the oil changed at every 10k.

Is there not a maint schedule in the back of the manual?

I would assume somewhere before 60k would be throttle body servicing and transmission fluid change? Diff fluid changes and whatever filters are involved in both

No I dont, I am calling around dealers to find one -- TE with KDSS, Limited or TE with Navi. No third row.

I am doing searches, doing many reading

Was the factory recommended part the expensive bit, or all the other crud the dealer wants to include in a 45k service?

Say the magic words to them: "Factory-recommended maintenance only."

Copied and pasted from the maintenance guide:

45,000 miles or 54 months
Check installation of driver’s floor mat
Clean cabin air filter
Inspect and adjust all fluid levels
Lubricate propeller shaft
Re-torque propeller shaft bolt
Rotate tires
Visually inspect brake linings/drums and brake pads/discs
Note: If 0W-20 oil WAS NOT used at the last oil change, replace engine oil and oil filter.1
Inspect the following:

__ Brake lines and hoses
__ Drive shaft boots (4WD)
__ Engine coolant 4
