60K Service Questions...

I have an appt for 9.21.09 to do my 60K service. I received this flyer in the mail last week. Anything else I should have them do at this point? Anything on here that isn't necessary? The actual price for the V8 is $369. I thought about doing some of this stuff myself, but I assume parting it out wouldn't save me much money over all. Thoughts?

PS: I LOOOOVE that the cabin filter replacement is $70! haha...I've already done that. Cost me $12 I think? Classic.

IMO its a rip, much easier to DIY. Nothing really to it if you can change oil you should be able to handle it.

Here's mine at 60k, as you can see toyota recommended serpentine belt replacement, because there were cracks in mine. I had it replaced in a shop I trust.
It cost $600+ if they'll(toyota) do it :biggrin2:

I think you would save some cash parting it out. They're not really doing anything useful for $369.

Coolant isn't due until 100K, and it says the price goes up if they replace it with the Toyota Super Long Life Coolant that came with your truck.

You're probably not due for the trans, either. If they were to drain and refill it, you'd need more than 2.5 quarts. It also says that Type T-IV fluid is extra - that means WS has to be even more extra.

You also don't need spark plugs on a V8 until 90,000, along with the timing belt.

There's nothing to do to "set timing".

There may be other tasks of value to you right now, such as changing diff fluids. Go by Toyota's recommendations in the Maintnenace Guide, and get a price for specific items. You might spend the same amount of money, but get better value out of it.

Last bullet ("Road Test Vehicle") is a hoot. Part of $369 for someone to take my wheels for spin? No thanks, I do all of my own stunts (or road testing in this case).
