6112's are shot. considering alternatives.

my 6112's are completely shot. not sure if a lietime warranty route would work as i am the second owner. considering new coilovers and rear shocks at this point. right now the rear is OME springs and icon 2.0 shocks.
If I replace the fronts, im considering 5100's but will the 6112 springs fit the 5100's??

so after reading all the warranty issues that legitimate primary owners have had with bilstein, ive decided to forgo that fiasco and order new. $695 via Home Depot is the best pricing I can find. Does anyone know of a vendor that gives us a discount? I've read through many of the suspension sticky threads to no avail.

I know you can get the 5100 front and rear for about 360 on amazon. Springs and top hats are interchangeable. I’ve used the 5100 and 6100 and they are both a great ride.

I paid $350 on amazon earlier this year and had no issues. Also recco the 5100s

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I think i need to write this out for myself to visualize my options. My rig is 60/40% on-road/off-road. when I wheel it, I push the limits. This is my first 4Runner and im coming from 10yrs of wheeling Jeeps on 37-40" tires...so I have to regear my brain for the new rig.
Cost is a factor as well. I was hoping to keep this under $900 as I have other wear parts to replace too.

5100's - smaller shock body, lighter spring, not great for future bumper and winch. not rebuildable.

5100's w Toytec springs - customizable spring rate, ok for bumper/winch, not rebuildable

6112's - larger shock body, heavier spring than 5100. ok for future bumper and winch. not rebuildable/worth the effort of sending off.

Toytec BOSS - customizable spring rate, ok for bumper/winch, not rebuildable, but adjustable on the vehicle.

OME - Larger shock body, customizable spring rate, not rebuildable.


Is my train of thought about right here? If so I just need to decide whats best for my style and budget.
