650 vs. 700 lbs Springs?

So I just placed an order with Overland Warehouse for their 2.5 lift kit, but they got back to me saying that they are out of 700 lbs springs and won't get them until about the end of the month or longer. They offered to use 650 lbs springs, my question is, howe much of a difference does it make?

Anyone using either spring mind chiming in?

Ok, not sure how much help this will be but I run ICON's with 650 lbs springs and it handles the extra weight just fine (I know you're adding a front bumper soon). I considered upgrading to 700lbs spring before i got the bumper thinking it would handle the weight better but the 650's works out fine.

The Cali guys on 120 wheel with a nice mixture of suspensions so they might be able to give you an more accurate comparison between 650 vs 700.

Did Andries or Mark provide any information regarding the difference?

Well I know the 650's will take the weight Andries assured me it would. But I also plan on putting a CBI rear bumper with tire carrier, plus tools and gas cans, rock sliders, BB rock shields underneath, and some other stuff. I wonder if that extra 50lbs spring rating will make much of a difference with all that?

So the rear is a different story. I saw your other post on 120 so they can chime in. I know dawgrunner is running CSS springs in the rear with the same planned mods while mcl_68 is running allpro 3.5" springs to handle the weight. Mcl is running almost the same setup you're going for (front and rear bumpers, full bb skids, sliders, etc) while running icon 650lbs springs in front. Hopefully he can weigh in with his opinion.

Id say wait if you can for the heavier springs...I have OME heavy / Heavy with an ARb front Bumper and warn 9000 winch with a CBI rear bumper/ tire carrierEtc...The Springs WILL settle after a bit and My Rides Like stock now ( i wheel almost every weekend) And Consider if you load your vehicle for camping etc / Roof rack full of gear yada Yada yada ... I think it depends on what you REALLY will do more of with the vehicle ... Just my . 02
