6inch lift???

Hi Im new registered user to this forum but I would look through this forum before I made an account so hello everyone!

So I wanted to do a 6 inch total lift on my 03 toyota 4runner Sr5 and I wanted to know if this would work.

I want to buy a 3inch body lift from ebay for 150 and if I buy a suspension lift (ome 3inch coils) for my 4runner would that work? And does anything need to be changed if I do lift it 6" high?.

3inch body wont work, 1.5 is the tallest you can go I forget why but its the steering and shifting linkage I think, plus you would need longer p/s lines and other misc things.

Tallest you can go is 4.5 3" suspension 1.5 body unless you go for a SAS swap, then its whatever you can afford-

If you want 6", do a SAS with 35's...$$$! A more practical setup would be a 3" coil-over lift with a 1.5" body lift with 33's maybe 35's with a lot of trimming!!

A 6inch lift without major changes wouldve been sweet! Im really looking forward to rock crawling.

if you really are dying for a 6 inch. the fj cruiser is the same exact frame as the 4runner, rough country makes a 6 inch for it. no one has done it but im sure it would bolt right up. not trying to tell you to buy it and try but if you research it and you are confident you can try it. someone was going to do it once. might have been on t4r but never had final results.

sas is a solid axle swap. cost a lot but is definitely worth it if your into rock crawling and hardcore offroad

That rough country lift is nice but expensive and I dont know if it would work Im not experienced but I also dont want to buy something that doesnt fit. So I guess my best bet is to get a 1.5 body lift and a 3 inch suspension lift without any changes in anything major so pretty much plug and play lol. If Im wrong on this help me out Thank you guys.

That setup will let you run 285/75's with about 2" trimmed off. You'll also need new wheels to space the tires about 2" out. The result you'll see is a 33" tire with minor rubbing at full lock on the body mount at the rear of the front tires.

Yea hopefully this 4.5 Inch is a good height when I see it in real life. I plan on rock crawling this summer. That black 4runner looks great. I plan on getting pictures when I get my lift and if I am at budget Im definitely gonna do more to this 4runner. Thank you guys so much. :guitar3:

Those spacers will eat up more of your suspension's negative travel, than is ideal. Probably not a good idea.

physically impossible to get 3'' spacers in with aftermarket coilovers anyways. even if you could you would have ZERO suspension travel.

These 4runners arent like chevy silverados or ford f150's you cant just stack a bunch of bullsh1t like high schoolers tend to do...

if you want more then 4.5'' (1.5 bl and 3 susp.) you gotta solid axle it. however there was one guy on toyota120 forum that stacked two 1.5'' bl. Very unsafe though

like i posted in the other current 6 inch lift thread going on right now, i know of one person who stacked a daystar budget boost on top of an ome coilover. his fro suspension doesnt move. dont do it

If you plan on rock crawling, you're probably gonna spend around that much for a suspension anyway. The only thing (new) less than $800 is spacer lifts which aren't really going to help your wheel travel.

Stock offset is about 20 or 30 I believe, you'll want around or below 0 to replace wheel spacers and OEM wheels.

I think for the 2" trimmed he's talking about the trimming you'll have to do to body & bumper. Not sure though, but there will be trimming for 285s.

Something like a 255/85R17 is like 33" tall but skinny. I've heard they work well off road and cause less issues with clearance than their wider 33" counterparts.
