i was wondering why you didnt use the rear fj kit . It seem like there are the same. I would think the panhard bar would be the oly thing that would be a wrong length.

It is too expensive, need some further mods, does not suite my needs and give the lift I want.

I am in Birmingham, I am sure it would be rather expensive to ship... If you think it is do-able I am interested. what would the weight be? I run a company and we use DHL and UPS, I have both of their shipping computers/scales/printers in my office, I can figure out the shipping, or even prepay it and send you the slip in the mail to stick on the box and have it picked up. Let me know what you think.

Also what was the required work to put those sliders on? (Weld?)

I'd estimate the weight of ~50lbs per side. Never actually measured it, so it may be less.

The ones I've done on my truck has welded brackets to the frame, so steps are sliding in and then bolt-up to the bracket.
 
Ok, I understand, I looked at the picture and I can see where they slide into the mounts that are welded on the frame, very nice... 50lbs per slider/step will be alot for shipping. Maybe I better hold off on this for a bit.

As I mention, I never weight them, they might be even 30lbs or whatever.
I've an idea. Get a vacation or take a few days off, drive to Toronto, have fun and drive back with a new steps.
 
That sh!t is bad ass. Your truck is definitely in the top 3 Runners I've seen. I think it is time for you to start your own website that shows all the upgrades like Lance has.

How is the acceleration with those big tires and stock gears?

Its slower then stock on acceleration. Because of the stock gears, large tires and allot of trail weight, the acceleration become much slower, stopping distance is greater and consumption gone up. City driving becomes more difficult in terms of merging into the traffic, but still good, even with my V6. I can't compare it to Impreza STi, but Civics are still behind me. Highway is 50/50. It drives on lower RPM, so it should be nicer, but switching the gears every incline, so it's not that nice.
In general it can be driven as before if I'm not concern about engine noise (high RPM) and fuel consumption. Gears are one of the things I'll be adding as soon as they will be available my wife will agree on this in our family budget ;).

What is the story with the availability of a 6" lift for the Runner??

I know that the front end of a FJ/Taco Lift would bolt up, but the rear is the questionable part!

Do you have any insite into this?
 
I am very interested too. So the front 6" kit for taco/FJ cruiser fits the t4r? What can be done about the back? Maybe get the upper and lower adjustable links, get rid of the sway bar, a custom panhard bar bracket and custom shocks and springs???

Not direct fit. Need customization and allot of trimming as FJ wheel wells are different.
Back is need customization as well.
I had done it, but then gone different way, much better....
 
looks great man. any chance this setup will be available as an off the shelf kit? been looking for something down the road that would give more than a 3" lift without going long travel and where the back is higher to match the front.
