70-75k Tuneup

If you guys didn't know, I've been getting like 10 MPG city driving which is abnormal. I think my oxygen sensor is gone bad.

I brought it up with my dad hoping that he would pay for it. He suggested that Since I'm like 400 miles away from 70k, he told me to wait until 70k, and go get a major tuneup and get my oxygen sensor fixed while there.

What should I be looking for at 70-75k? Is the usual tuneup at 75k? I just bought my car 68k, and now I'm at 69.5k.

Should I not even bother with the tuneup until 75k?

Don't know much about your specific model but most cars have their big services at 30K, 60K, and 90K, so 70 or 75K would not mormally be a biggie.

However, do you know whether your car had its full 60K service? If not you might want to get that done at 70K instead, just to be sure.

Yes... try to find out if the 60K was done completely.
There isn't much to a tune up - there is no distributor or coil that needs changing. However, if you've got a V6, it needs spark plugs every 30K miles. Aside from a bunch of fluids, the plugs and the air filter are both due at 60K. If those weren't changed, then do them now.

When I bought my car at 68k, the air filter was already brand new. Maybe I'll just get the O2 sensor changed.
