He could say his eyes have been "opened" by her political views but in reality, he is doing her bidding because he has the bully pulpit and she doesn't. i agree what he is doing looks more like a stunt than anything, but the reaction was (and still is, clearly) huge, so the masses gave him what he wanted. and we are still here talking about it.

it is a free country after all and we are allowed to change our views, stances, opinions, and beliefs at will. That is why i love this country.

If you would re read my whole post (which I helpfully quoted for you) you would see that I said "He could say his eyes have been "opened" by her political views but in reality, he is doing her bidding because he has the bully pulpit and she doesn't." Sure, everyone has their right to change their opinion and I'm sure he believes in what he is saying and doing. So what. He was one way before he met her and now he is much different and using his status to push her agenda. It's not bad or good it's the truth. Personally I don't believe the National Anthem is anything more than honoring our past and present military. They obviously believe the National Anthem is a tool to be used to draw attention to their beliefs, which in no shape, way or form have anything to do with the military. To each their own. When I see people not honoring our service people, especially on a national stage, I change the channel. Simple.

He, and others like him, have a job in entertainment just like a musician or and actor. They get paid to entertain the masses. For anyone to think those entertainers are smarter or their opinion is better just because they can play football or sing is ludicrous. Unfortunately, the average person is mesmerized by their every word. If he does it again I will change the channel.

I agree that the national anthem is a way to show respect for all the service men and women today and of yester year. I stand for them and the sacrifice they have made.

unless you don't agree that he is within his constitutional rights to do whatever he wants (no matter how disrespectful or annoying anyone may find it) to do as long as it doesn't impede the right of anyone else to be respectful.

I mean he's not out to drown it out by blowing air horns or anything. I say we let him be, he's not hurting anyone.

He absolutely can do whatever he wants, which is why he should show support of the military who gave him and everyone that right. Again, opinions differ. I just won't watch until he stands up. That's all.

Now, I would definitely listen to what he has to say about his views if he went on Meet the Press or Tavis Smiley or some such show.

Ok I am not going to agree or disagree with your statement. But I am going to ask you to point out some unprosecuted police brutality. The officer in Oklahoma is facing charges. And the rest of the recent incidents to my knowledge have been justified on the investigation is not yet finished. Please cite any examples and evidence you may have.

If we look at the last 2 police shootings the original narrative was a white male cop shot a in armed black male. Both time it was incorrect. A white female made what appears to be a bad shot. And a black cop shot a black man the supposedly was reading a book but no book was found.
