Are Costco's prices competitive? I think I was quoted around $800 or $900 at Discount Tire for the BFG KO's, that might have been with the warrenty though.

Yes , they will only install stock size. But those are very good deal for a lifetime rotation, balancing plus I think mine has 40K warranty for repair(tire), roadside assistance if applicable. Also, nitrogen really saves you gas.
If you will bring the wheels, you can avail of the discount for a set, they will mount them for free, but I think you won't have those additional priveleges

Uneek & I both purchased a set of tires for our previous car, but didn't install them right away, because we didn't need them yet. We just wanted to utilize the discount. And later on...we brought them back, showed them the receipt & they slapped them on.
Why wouldn't you want them to install it? Same reason? Or you don't trust them installing? You have OCD like me? haha

I am confused now when I called Costco. As if the guy I talked to is suspecting that I will sell the tires !! so hes answer is, He need to see the vehicle. Its better to talk to them in person, I see no reason as long as you are a member and you will not hold them liable for improper mounting and won't claim warranty from them if you choose to go to other installer. "You have four weeks from the date of delivery to the warehouse to "PICK UP" your tires or have them installed. If your tires are not picked up or installed within four weeks, your order may be cancelled."

I got my 285 michelins at costco with this in january (it is a recurring deal, when this expires they will just start it again) I put my 4runner on jackstands in the parking lot, and took the wheels off, put them on one of the flat carts they have there and brought them into the shop, the guys swapped them out to 285 from the stock size. This is what they told me at the shop to do, that or bring them in another truck. Now that they are on the car they can service them on the vehicle, and I can have them put either the same size tires on again or stock size.
They will also sell the tires without mounting and you save $12 a tire.
I also am not affiliated with costco, but I just went through this in January.

let me get this straight... i already have 265/70 nitto terragrapplers on the wheels. will they install the bfg ko to replace or will they look it up and say its supposed to be 265/65?
also, did ayone get a price quote from costco for the bfg ko installed?

I wasnt looking for the BFGs so I didnt get any quotes, but my AT2s (285/70/17) were $242 each installed before the $70 off, which sounds like alot, but I couldnt find them anywhere else cheaper installed, plus costco tire warranty is supposed to be great.

Suggestions for a tire change
Hi Guys,
I am ready to change my tires that came with my T4R I had Michelin Cross terrain 63000 miles so far. getting ready to change I checked in sears and they seemed to be about 210$ a piece. I mostly do driving in city and highways and very rare offroading, I am looking for a smooth ride yet with some rugged looks on the tires. I know Michelin CT are best but they are biting my budget . I am looking at BFG long trail or all terrain which looks rugged but will this create a more rough ride. I have a baby and and my wife uses it once in a while. any suggestions. I read a lot of discussion, but would like to have more input from you guys

From what you described the BFG KO doesen't sound good for you.
Maybe looking into the Geolanders or Revos.
