8/5 - Signal Peak

I am planning on making a run up Signal Peak on 8/5.

Plan would be to meet at trail head and depart up trail by 8:30 am.
On the way back down, stop in Nevada City at Jernigan's Tap House & Grill for lunch, then possibly stop at one or both, Knee Deep and Moonraker.

I am heading up from West Sac, so open for meeting up.

My plan is to enter from the Eagle Lakes side and make the climb to the top and then exit down through the Cisco Grove route. Not sure a Subaru would be up for that route. You may want to do some research on that route.

Would like to join, but have some prior commitments and will be spending remaining time preparing for Sierra Trek that following week.

On a side note, I'll be trying to pull together a Sacto area meet n greet n trail run 9/2 (Signal Peak was a suggested run and depending on what else I find out while researching might end up being the option). Let me know if you're interested and I'll make sure you get tagged on the post.

Labor Day weekend I will be up the Hyw. 4 corridor. If Corral Hollow comes up for that trip, I would be in.

Will do. Love the HWY4 / Lake Alpine / Bear Valley area... Did about 1/3 of Corral Hollow this past July 4th week... intended to run the whole thing but the snow drifts got too big and ended up spending about 4 hrs digging myself and and an FZJ80 out of one along the ridge top. Was a lot of fun though. I am looking forward to going back and finishing it... as well as trying out some of the other trails in Black Springs ... maybe Slick Rock (though not sure my Runner is sufficiently built yet to tackle the whole trail...but one day!)

If you are ever up there, hit me up. I am up there most weekends in the Camp Connell / Dorrington area. Looking to do all of the above, plus go back into Highland Lakes and even do Deer Valley, to the water crossing. The section of trail that crosses the stream is closed unfortunately.

I still want to call the NF and verify, but having Deer fully open again would be huge for hwy. 4 wheelin' opportunities...

That will be awesome! That was a fun trail. There were some tight spots that I remember. The last time I ran in was in 2002.

We should organize a Corral Hollow / Deer Valley or Slick Rock / Deer Valley run

Corral Hollow last weekend Did part of the run at Slickrock too, but stopped at the V with the big granite & let my buddy in his Heep (tho it's a very nice Heep lol...) run it.

I'd love to do Signal Peak, but not sure I can yet...

Neil, I've seen your ride, you have enough clearance.
Can't remember if you have skids, just take it easy if you don't.

I never hit anything on the bottom.
Think the mud pit towards the top might have dried out alittle.

Oh, I meant as far as other obligations go...seems I'll be busy but look forward to wheeling with you guys! Will be getting full bottom armor soon. On factory for now, other than Ricochet LCA skids.

Hey! How would a stock 4th gen with crappy tires do on this trail? A quick search says it might not be doable but what do you think? If I could make it through, I'd love to tag along.

It depends on 1) Driving skills 2) Skilled spotter 3) Willingness to rocker and undercarriage damage
