So I just bought this truck about a month ago. When i first got it, it would start fine every time, but the starter would keep spinning for a couple seconds after the engine was going. Now all of a sudden i just get a click.
The battery seems good, all the contacts are clean, and I have virtually no voltage drop across the circuit. Not sure what to do next. Replace it? Rebuild it?
From what I have heard, sometimes the contacts in the solenoid start to wear but if that were the case it seems weird that it would stop working all of a sudden instead of working intermittently for a while.
I also hear that the ignition switch is a common problem on these trucks but I'm not sure how to go about diagnosing that?
I'm gonna try giving it a good jump start right now and see what happens. Any help or ideas are appreciated, thanks!
