compressor out?
Are you sure that the compressor is out? I got mine converted a couple of years ago from R12 to R134(?). It had a slow leak and it was very expensive to get R12 put in, but I can put the new refrigerant in myself for cheap.
I had my engine rebuilt at 212K because I had used a synthetic blend oil around 180K. That cleaned out the deposits that were keeping the main seals from leaking. After about 20K of the main seals leaking, decided to go for a full overhaul w/ a TRD level 1 cam put in. Have 247K now. If you keep the oil clean and petroleum based, you should be able to go to 250K at least.
I think the KBB trade-in on it is about $400

the one i'm looking at is the same color as yours!
Yeah, it still uses the old stuff.. but the current owner got a quote of $700 to fix it and convert it to the new Rliquid. does that sound right to you?
thanks for the info.. looks like is still have some mileage left on it.. i was reading the post on how many miles people have on their trucks... pretty impressive

Mine has a very slow leak so, it takes a couple of years before I have to top it off again. No compressor work was done. The number $175 is coming to mind for the conversion. Also $400 for a reman compressor comes to mind. I have a very reasonable Toy expert mechanic in Ft. Collins.
