New to this forum, but not new to Toys. Former Toy certified mechanic, but out of that loop for some time.... When I purchased the poor truck ('86) it had been over-modified (all things in moderation); WAAYY too much lift, 38.5" Super Swampers, with (supposedly) ratio-compensating 5.71 rear gears, RE motor and the not-so-smooth A340H auto- if I hunted as much as the trans you'd have to call me Daniel Boone! Anyway, I've got the stock 4.30's back in the back with a Detroit Locker (NOT my pick for the street!!), and the front "spin-tests" close to matching- BUT it still could be 4.10's- and the ever scary "somebody's been inside" telltale of orange silicone on the cover... SOOO my question is this: Anybody here know if 1st gen Supra or 2nd gen Celica GTS F series 7.5" parts (gears, bearings, POSI) will fit the 1st gen 4R? The VIN plate carries no info for the front, the back's a 4cyl 8" G series. If I smiply must *go in* and operate, I've got an 85 or 86 Supra here (forget which) with a 7.5" 4.30 posi, and it sure would be convenient (read that CHEAP) if the guts would swap out and fit my IFS.....
