Hello - I've owned an '86 22RE for all of 12 hours now. I live on CO so it has virtually no power at altitude so if ascending must run the thing at WOT in whatever gear it will pull. This one has 221k on it and has a good ownership history; been in a toyota family its whole life.
Question - at WOT and mid to high RPM, I get a slight "bump" in the power delivery, like it cuts out for just a few RPM. Many people might not notice it as it is very slight, not pronounced, but is there. Like a slight cutting out. Not enough that your head bobs forward but you can see the shifter bobble a bit. Any thoughts on the cause of this?
Next question - the left front tire is wearing the outside edge badly. I've been reading the Haynes manual about the torsion front end. It does not appear to be a toe problem as the RF is fine. The runner came with 2 sets of tires and BOTH have one badly worn outside edge on one tire, so the problem has persisted for a while. Other than doing front shocks/alignment/rotate/balance (the LF is way out of balance with the wear), what else should I know about the Toy's front end?
Thanks, Leo.
