'86 clutch replacement

I'm a new owner of a beautiful runner that needs a clutch replacement. I'm an amateur mechanic (most experience with subaru, some with ancient Internationals...) and wondering how difficult it is to replace the clutch in these trucks. Can anyone offer some advice/trick tips to doing this job? p.s. I'm interested in doing this work myself, I need to learn this truck proper. Thanks!

I'm not sure how different it is from my 1995 but im only 17 and my dad and I replaced my clutch. It wasn't to bad because we were both busy so it took about 2 weeks but over all time to do it was about 12-15ish hours because we had no idea what to do. So if you know atleast something about it and how to DIY it will only take you an afternoon or 2. Hope I helped.

A transmission jack is extremely useful, especially if you remove the trans and t-case as one piece. A couple of 18" extensions to get to the top bolts is very handy too.
If you search you'll probably find plenty of how-to's with pics.

You're going to need a pilot bearing tool also. When I did mine, it only took about 2 hours, but the pilot bearing gave me more hell than anything else.
