i just recently picked a 86. previous owners have done quite a bit of their own special mods including replacing the efi engine with a carbd, auto trans to a manual and all sorts of other things. my only prooblem that ive come across that i havent been able to get enough info on is the heater core hose routing. the main heater core hoses along with the aux heater in the center console hoses have been cut and or disconnected at the firewall. the manual gives you a cpl diagrams but nowhere near what i need to get some heat back in my truck for the winter. even just pics of the hose routing from the firewall would help. thanks for any help my toes and my kids will be thankful.

the main heater core is on the inside of the fire wall, The in and out fitting stick through to the engine bay just hook them up to either side of the water pump.. Dont know bout aux heater.

The aux and mainheater core ties in together at the firewall. If they bypassed the aux core then it should be like the standard w/o aux heat. Other thing your heater core could be clogged up not allowing the coolant to travel through properly. Take off the hoses from the core and try to get air through the core somehow. I used an air compressor. Put a longer hose on one side to route it over the side of the truck and blow air into the other and see if air travels through. It will blow coolant and gunk out if its stopped up. Had to do that on my 84 pickup when it wasnt blowing hot air and til this day it still works great.
